The health care centre at Ananda serves as a primary health centre, providing basic medical services to the Gairatpurbas and adjoining five villages. This is crucial because the access to larger hospitals are limited. Our health care centre has a general practitioner, a gynae, a dentist, an optometrist and a physiotherapist who visits 2-3 days a week. This Health care unit caters to the health needs of the residents of Ananda and the villagers of the neighbouring villages.
The closest medical facility to Ananda is 11 kilometres away. One of the most pressing issues of Gairatpurbas area is the limited availability of healthcare facilities. Most of the villages lack basic healthcare infrastructure. This results in residents having to travel long distances to seek medical care, often at a great financial cost. Hence, there was a desperate need of easily accessible basic medical facility for the villagers.
After a survey AFA started a health care centre at Ananda for the community around. The health centre ensures services on general medicine, gynae, dentistry, optometry & physiotherapy as per the requirement of the patients. It also provides access to affordable dentures and spectacles. The health centre organises talks on health and hygiene for the students of the local schools. Thus the centre is beneficial for all and espicially those with chronic conditions, mobility and age related issues.
Access to health care facility will lead to better overall health in the community. Regular check-ups, preventive care, and timely treatment will reduce the incidence of diseases and improve life expectancy. Health care services also ensures community outreach, health education, awareness about health issues, preventive measures, and healthy lifestyles. Over all it impacts quality of life, enabling individuals to live healthier and more productive lives.
