The Women Welfare Foundation has been tirelessly working on mental health initiatives for families directly and indirectly affected by 1) the Civil War and 2) the earthquake.
The earthquake of 2015 in Nepal was a catastrophic event, affecting over eight million people and resulting in more than a thousand fatalities and twenty-four thousand injuries. Beyond the human toll, extensive infrastructure damage led to the displacement of thousands, particularly impacting vulnerable groups such as women and children. The psychological and mental health challenges stemming from this disaster continue to persist, particularly in the rural areas of Nepal.
Similarly, the Healing Hearts project is a recent initiative of the Women Welfare Foundation, designed to address the critical mental health needs of women in Bardiya, who have been deeply affected by the post-conflict environment. While the project is in its early stages, having been conceptualized and piloted in late 2023, it reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the well-being of women in this region.
We are committed to creating a world where all women are treated with respect and have the opportunity to thrive. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to resources and opportunities, which is why we work tirelessly to make that belief a reality.
We rely on generous donors like you to fund our programs and initiatives. Your support makes it possible for us to continue making a positive impact in the lives of women. Thank you for your generosity and for being a part of our mission.
