Access to healthcare remains one of the biggest challenges for Deaf individuals and Persons with Disabilities in Pakistan, especially for those living in underserved communities. Through the “Healing Hands” project, DWAF continued supporting individuals who often struggle not only with medical expenses, but also with communication barriers, transportation difficulties, and lack of accessible healthcare services.
During this period, we helped connect beneficiaries with medical consultations, basic health support, referrals, and awareness regarding health and wellbeing. Many families shared that having guidance and support through DWAF reduced their stress and helped them seek timely care with greater confidence and dignity.
One important realization from our field work is that healthcare for Deaf and PWD communities is not only about treatment — it is also about communication, accessibility, and being understood. Small acts of support can make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals who are often overlooked.
We remain grateful to the GlobalGiving community for standing with us in this journey. Your support continues to bring hope, relief, and dignity to Deaf individuals and Persons with Disabilities who deserve equal access to healthcare and compassionate support.
