HAICU - Healing Arts Imaginitive Care Unit - continues to meet weekly. For this time together, the group practices creative processes to help them move through their individual traumas. The group provides a safe space for each to express themselves and find support from their peers.
We have had a rainy Spring and Summer so far. When the sun came out, HAICU planted a garden together at our SafeArt home in Chelsea VT. It is full of veggies to share in the later months.
Recently the group met at one of our facilitators home and garden. Susan is an herbalist amongst her other talents, and shares her gardens with the participants. Being outdoors as much as possible is an important part of healing, especially in the north where winters are long and isolating.
The group has also been making greeting cards as a fundraising project for their program. Cards will be available at various HAICU fundraisers throughout the year.
