In March we did some guided imagery meditation to connect with our Inner Child and Inner Fairy. This is based on the work of Israeli artist Rakafet Hadar. These meditations connect us with these subconscious parts of ourselves and we come out of them with personal messages. We then created mixed media collages around what we have discovered.
In April we focused on neurographic art which is a meditative process based on mindfulness that stills and calms the mind.This is a specific drawing process that bypasses the thinking mind and opens up the subconscious.
In the Neurographic drawing, included in this report, you can see that everywhere the lines intersect those right angles are rounded which is helping the mind to calm and relax. Now that the drawing on this one is done, the creator will color the spaces in using a limited amount of colors which is more soothing to the mind.
In May we collected plant donations from local farms for a plant sale that benefits our HAICU programming. We also built new plant boxes in our back garden space and planted veggies that we will use for our summer lunches. Also there are several pots of flowers that will pretty up our space!
In June we have been creating small accordian books with original tiny paintings and affirmations that mean something to us. These will be displayed in our personal spaces as reminders of what is important to us to focus on at this time.
