Youth Using the Power of Art to Create Change

As we step into this year’s final months, we are reminded of the immense power in the intersection of art, dialogue, and advocacy in shaping safer, more connected communities. At Vision Quilt, our mission is simple but profound: we believe that youth have the creativity, passion, and resilience to lead the charge in preventing gun violence. Through art and education, we empower them to imagine a world free from gun violence—one where their voices are heard, their pain acknowledged, and their ideas for change brought to life.

We have seen firsthand how impactful this work can be. Through our partnerships and workshops, over 2,500 youth and survivors have been empowered to create their own Vision Quilt panels, speak out in their communities, and help lead critical conversations and advocacy initiatives around prevention. Some of our students from Lodestar school in Oakland, CA advocated for laws to ensure safe schools and  neighborhoods in Sacramento, at the California State Capitol.

These moments of transformation wouldn’t be possible without your ongoing support. Be part of the movement. Whether it’s through a donation, volunteering your time, or spreading the word about Vision Quilt’s mission, every contribution helps us move closer to our goal of a safer, more just world for all.

Wherever you live on this amazing planet, we hope you will VOTE for the changes you want to see in your communities. Here is a Vision Quilt panel by a young activist from Washington State in the U.S..

Thank you for standing with us as we work together to end gun violence—one powerful vision at a time.
