GlobalGiving via Malala Fund and Crimson Multimedia Ltd have funded/facilitated 10,000 children In Lagos schools not able to afford - to watch He Named Me Malala at GDc City Mall Cinema, Lagos, Nigeria with the aim to inspire the young generation - future of Nigeria who can make/bring change by ensuring Education is made a priority for every child and mould minds that one can achieve any goals at any age.
The state with the lowest poverty rate of 33.8 per cent, Lagos struggles with high rate of schools who cannot afford basic education needs. Especially being an African generic challenge, girls aren't encouraged to finish their education. Screening of the film to the girls schools is to educate & to enlighten school kids the importance of finishing education for a better life perhaps away from slums/poverty.
Inspire children to think for future and their well being of their own, the generation after them. Youth of today if inspired toward education, they will ensure their children are educated. Its a domino effect that is aimed at going viral toward a betterment of the country in future.
Generation of today will educate its children, this will reduce unemployment, reduce drug abuse, child labour, early marriages.
