Koach Parenting will support 35 disadvantaged families who have a child with challenging behaviour. Qualified Parenting Practitioners will provide free one-to-one coaching. Parents will be listened to and learn new skills to create a calmer atmosphere at home. Parents will gain confidence to put boundaries in place, through understanding life through the eyes of their child.
Children with challenging behaviour, upset the harmony of the home. Parents are often at a loss what to do. Babies are not born with a handbook! Sometimes the child has a condition such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). One in one hundred children have this condition according to the National Autistic Society. We will help all parents who are referred to us irrespective or race, religion or income.
Daniel and Berocha de Lange will help parents understand themselves and their children using the evidence based Solihull Approach. They will show parents how to be in tune with their child . They will show how to notice when they or their child start to get angry and look at winding down techniques. Parents are encouraged not to wait until anyone is at the peak of anger, because it is then very difficult to exercise self-control. Parents set their goals, which they revisit at later sessions.
Parents who have up-skilled on how to have a calm house, create a harmonious atmosphere, allowing children to be nurtured and brought up to fulfil their potential. It also helps the child behave better at school, thereby increasing their chance of attaining a good education, better employment prospects and a better quality of life, both as a child and also as an adult. They will also be better parents! The results of Koach Parenting one-to-one sessions will be happy homes for generations!
