Hands-On Science Books for Young Students

We're excited to annouce that there are new SiE Books coming out this spring:

• Jasmine and José Clean a Creek
• Jasmine and Jose Build a Pinball Machine

The first book is primarily for 7-year-olds and the second primarily for 5-year olds. 

We are continuing our partnerships with community based organizations, including libraries and homeless shelters to bring more hands-on science to children whose families don't have resources to buy them.

Our goal for this school year is to distribute 15,000 free SiE Books (along with all the materials needed to do the experiments). We have grants to distribute about 10,000 and need your help to make up the difference. Will you join us?

Fall is in full swing here in Northern California and our students are back in school!

We've partnered with a community based organization to assemble several hundred books and just got them back last week! These books will be distributed in November.

We’re partnering with another community based organization to distribute books to families who are recent arrivals in the US and may not speak English at home. Families are taught about the importance of science, inquiry, and scientific thinking, and are then shown how to use the books. Some of the photos in this report are from families in this group.

Our books are still a critical resource. We will distribute more books before the winter holidays so that students have fun science activities to do at home.
