Dear our beloved Donors,
For Vietnamese Stature Foundation (VSF) is pleased to announce that we have successfully raised more than $14,600 to sponsor semi-boarding meals for preschool children in Cao Bang within just one month. With the money coming from 120 individual sponsors and units (including the money from GlobalGiving), we will bring 72,000 semi-boarding meals to ethnic minority preschool students in Bao Lam district, Cao Bang in the school year 2022 - 2023.
In the first term of this school year, 202 students at 5 school sites Na O, Khau Noong (Thach Lam preschool), Ban La, Sang Xoay, Khau De (Thai Son preschool) were provided more than 35,000 hot nutritious meals every school day. Besides, students also had snacks (normally noodles, porridge, rice noodle) in the afternoon. Thanks to the daily meals, students attended school regularly and had good physical development index (both weight and height gain). To us and also to their parents, this is an amazing result.
"After the lesson, our children often excitedly talk about their school meals, how they learned to sing and played games in class and outdoors." - Mr. VAS - the father of two children: VTGL (5 years old) and VTKX (4 years old) - shared happily.
In order to bring the children nutritious meals, the teachers and the cooks worked very hard. Sometimes, the school site lacked clean water, so the cook had to go back to her house again and again to bring water to school. Sometimes, the cook has to bring dry corn to cook as there is no firewood available on the hill. Despite the difficulties, the cooks always try their best to give the children a good environment to study and grow up.
To keep bringing semi-boarding meals to upland children, we are looking forward to receiving your support for this project in the next school year 2023-2024.
