At Duo Duo Project, we are committed to ending the dog and cat meat trade in China. We believe our strategically designed approaches are the most effective way to achieve this goal. One of these approaches is our Spay/Neuter Initiative. It will reduce the supply of dogs and cats to the horrific meat trade - dogs and cats in the Chinese meat trade are strays and stolen pets, there are no dog meat farms in China.
Each year in China, millions of dogs and cats are slaughtered for human consumption. There are no dog or cat meat farms in China. Most of these animals are stolen pets or strays - dogs and cats who are ripped from the safety of their homes and yards or taken off of the streets where they scavenge for survival. The dog and cat meat trade thrives in part because of an abundant supply of vulnerable animals. It is fueled by a lack of resources to control stray populations.
By reducing the population of stray animals, we make it harder for traffickers to source victims, disrupting the cycle that perpetuates the dog and cat meat trade. Our project strikes at the roots of the dog and cat meat trade in a very direct and effective way.
By addressing stray animal overpopulation through our sustainable spay/neuter initiatives, we can tackle a root cause of the dog and cat meat trade and prevent significant animal suffering now and for generations to come.
