Thank you donors, for your ongoing support of our work!
As you know, at Green Map, we think globally and map locally. Over the past few months, we have been deepening our understanding of the United Nations 2030 Goals - these are also known as the SDGs, the sustainable development goals.
You have probably seen the rainbow ring for these 17 goals and the powerful issues they address. Interestingly, the SDGs correlate with the 170 Green Map Icons. We have created a chart with the involvement of Green Mapmakers in the UK and Switzerland. We are especially grateful to cartographer Ken Josephson at University of Victoria in Canada, for his design of the attached chart and great work on our soon to be released third edition of Mapping our Common Ground!
Now, we are working on a series of projects that will engage people in new ways. Among them is creating a Chinese version of this SDGs and Green Map Icons chart. Ken, mentioned above, will be working with 300 Chinese university students this spring. He says, “this would be a great opportunity for our students to work on cards, icons, resources and activity how-to's.” We look forward to sharing these outcomes here at Global Giving, and with your help, to activate communities in China and Taiwan.
Our best wishes to all for a healthy winter.
