Hello Israel Aquarium Supporters!
Since the official opening ceremony for the Israel Aquarium back in June, we entered the running-in period of the facility. This means that, although the facility is complete, we have entered the period completing our animal collection and perfecting our working systems and procedures. During this period, the Aquarium is open to the public on the basis of scheduled guided tours only which must be arranged in advance via our website.
Our preview tours provide the public with the opportunity to see the what their support has helped to build and to obtain a preview of the facility before it opens properly to visitors. The tours have a strong educational component, given that this is the main goal of our project, and introduce visitors to the necessity of conserving our local marine environments.
We hope to have completed our preparations and our animal collection within the next 6 months so that we can open to the public for individual ticket sales also. In tandem, our staff continue their intensive training and practice.
We invite you to watch our film “The Making of the Israel Aquarium” below to get a feel for how far the project has come over the last few years.
With thanks and appreciation.
