Hello Israel Aquarium Supporters!
Now that the very busy summer and holiday periods are behind us, we are delighted to share with you the joy of our first baby ray births that have occurred at the Aquarium.
Rays are related to sharks, being cartilaginous fishes (skeletons composed of cartilage rather than bone). Rays are the largest group of cartilaginous fishes, with well over 600 species in 26 families. Rays are distinguished by their flattened bodies, enlarged pectoral fins that are fused to the head, and gill slits that are placed on their ventral surfaces.
Enjoy the pictures of our baby rays and guitarfish below – aren’t they just the cutest?!
We continue to complete the Aquarium visitor experience and animal collection for which your continued support which is so very much appreciated!
