Gordon Clem Academy is rising on the Western Skyline of Aremiet. Construction in Kenya in the “bush” is not an easy task. The transportation of materials 6 km on a rough road through the river and mud, everything done by hand without the use of power tools, and training local labor as we go makes the progress a bit slower but much more satisfying.
Two classrooms and a small administration block is enough to get started in January. Beyond the challenge of construction is the challenge of getting the Academy running and keeping the costs as low as possible for the people.
Gordon Clem Academy will be serving primarily pastoralist communities. Most have very little money and many are single parents.
We welcome challenges and wish for you to come alongside us as we work together to bring the solution to poverty – EDUCATION - to students who may never otherwise be able to finish high school.
