In early February, Shelby County Trustee, Regina Morrison Newman, in partnership with the Bank On Memphis Coalition and Memphis Shelby County School hosted the Adulting 101 event for high school seniors at the Agricenter and our Goal Card team was in attendance!
The event brought together experts in several key areas to help ensure students are prepared for life after high school. Bankers, investment advisors, financial counselors, and many more were in attendance to assist our students on pathways to success, budgets, and give advice on how to pay for college. Over 30 companies were present and provided students with post-secondary opportunities and options. Our Goal Card team was present to provide support and assistance to attending seniors, and our Greater Memphis Financial Empowerment Center (GMFEC) counselors provided financial counseling to our students as they prepare for the journey into adulthood.
Congratulations to BTW senior and Goal Card scholar, Tika Robinson, for winning the raffle and receiving a Dell laptop for college!
Special thanks to Shelby County Trustee, Regina Morrison Newsom and Molly Pollaty for extending an invitation to our BTW Warriors! The students loved the experience. To find out more information about this event, visit www.bankonmemphis.org.
