The RISE Goal Card Program's purpose is to help children in low-income area of 38126 excel in academics, while maintaining satisfactory conduct and attendance. The program boasts a 90 percent graduation rate and entry into a post-secondary institution of higher learning.
Brian Johnson (pictured below) is just one example of how Goal Card impacts students' lives. Johnson is a student at Stax Soulsville Charter School, a participating Goal Card school. He has been a Goal Card participant for six consecutive years, and was recently inducted into the school's chapter of the National Honor Society, a nationwide organization that recognizes students for superior academic work, as well as community involvement. Like other Goal Card participants, he receives incentives for points earned based on grades, conduct and attendance every nine-week grading period during Redemption Days, as well tutoring/coaching in areas in which he needs improvement. Johnosn has proven that hard work and encouragement pay off.
Thank you for your interest in our work at RISE. We will continue to keep you abreast of our students' achievements and latest program developments. Your donations will continue to help our children excel, in turn, making our community and city a better place.
