As our Goal Card families continue adjusting to the “new normal” with regards to social distancing and online learning due to the pandemic, RISE is making sure that they know that the Goal Card program is continuously working to assist them.
During these tough times, Goal Card has found it imperative to expand our program by offering family support since many of our parents have experienced the devasting effects of the pandemic within their households. Even though schools are not physically open, our Goal Card coordinators continuously reach out to all 475 members to conduct wellness checks and link families to available resources regarding emergency cash assistance for laid-off employees, food distribution locations, and more. We have also been able to successfully incorporate weekly and/or monthly financial literacy lessons to all Goal Card locations, thanks to our partnerships with our participating schools.
Seeking to maintain normalcy in our program, Goal Card has converted to hosting virtual Redemptions to ensure that our members are still able to redeem their points and receive incentives for their academic performance, conduct, and attendance. Goal Card staff even hosted “Gift Card Pickups” at each of our school sites by ensuring a safe and social-distanced exchange. These encounters were the first time that many Goal Card members have seen their coordinators in months and they were able to express in person how much Goal Card has meant to them during this crisis.
Please help Goal Card continue this critical work in our community by donating today to the RISE Foundation. Your contribution will directly benefit families in need who have been disproportionally impacted by COVID-19.
