Last month, a select group of Goal Card scholars from Booker T. Washington High had the opportunity to visit FedEx Corporation, and have lunch with FedEx Executive Mr. Shannon Brown, Vice President of Human Resources.
During the visit, Mr. Brown shared the story of his amazing journey with the organization that began more than 40 years ago. Seniors were inquisitive and thrilled with the opportunity to correspond with executives at FedEx in such an intimate setting.
Throughout his time with FedEx, Mr. Brown has been able to serve in several leadership positions, and has had an opportunity to visit many countries. He encouraged seniors to excel beyond their expectations and issued a challenge to them to strive beyond what he has achieved. The seniors accepted his challenge and promised to keep him posted on thier achievements.
The scholars also had the opportunity to share their post-graduation plans with his leadership staff, including the colleges they would like to attend, their anticipated majors, and their future goals and plans after graduation. FedEx is always supportive of the RISE Goal Card Career Summit and students remarked on how much they appreciated learning about the vast career options they learn about during the event.
The RISE Goal Card Program thanks RISE board member, Crystal Oliver, for arranging this visit and providing a fun and unforgettable experience for these seniors! Your contributions to the RISE Foundation assists programs like Goal Card and help them to continue their impactfulness. You give students access to the exposure they desperatley need to experience unique opportunities like these that remain with them for a lifetime.
