As we finish this school year we would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the incredible generosity and continued support of our donors. This past year we held our most successful Benefit Dinner to date raising $4,395 in profit which has helped us to exceed our fundraising goal of $10,000 for the 2016-2017 school year. Since the beginning of our partnership, we have been fortunate enough to raise in excess of $66,000 in support of our Community Health Outreach Project.
Throughout this past year, we have seen many new members show their dedication and passion for our work by taking on leadership roles and initiating new and exciting projects within our chapter. It is through this growth that we hope to continue to strengthen our partnership with SAW and continue to increase our impact as a chapter. We hope to work this summer to determine what projects and ideas will be most beneficial to our work and our partnership and detail what steps need to be taken for those projects.
The money we have raised in support of CHOP has directly impacted ** Burmese migrants through workshop attendance, classroom attendance, and other project initiatives in the span of one year. This program has indirectly impacted an additional ** Burmese migrants through community and family knowledge in that same time period. Without the hard work and dedication of every single SAW staff and chapter member in our partnership and the continued support of people like you, this work would be impossible.
On May 3rd five of our chapter members traveled to Mae Sot to work on building the groundwork for the next stage of our partnership with SAW. The students are working to strengthen our partnership by building personal relationships with SAW staff members, witnessing the work that SAW does every day, and learning about the challenges and necessities of this work. These students are having discussions with SAW about our mutual expectations of each other in the coming year and what SAW needs to continue the vital work they do with the CHOP program. This information will be compiled into a Partnership Action Framework, a document that will outline the details of our partnership and the expectations for the coming year. The work of these students will help us to maintain the human connection that is so central to GlobeMed’s mission and keep us accountable to both SAW and our donors.
We thank you again for your continued support and encouragement for our partnership. We look forward to what the future and this coming year will hold. Donations to our chapter can be made at https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/globemedatcincinnati/.
Yours in Health,
