Camp Amnicon welcomes people from all walks of life to be real, be challenged and be changed through community. For #GivingTuesday we are asking for your help to support one group of campers to go on a voyager canoe trip in the Apostle Islands so they may have the opportunity to experience love and know that they are capable and lovable.
Many young people face peer pressure, drug culture, poverty, violence and distressed family situations. They need caring adults and experiences that will inspire them along their journey through life; experiences that will inspire them to discover their own strengths and gifts, to taste the value of working together, to enjoy the comfort of trusting others and to look into their inner lives and like what they see.
People, welcomed into the adventure of Amnicon, are encouraged to be real about who they are as individuals, to be challenged to discover who they can become in community, and in so doing, create space for internal change to occur.
Young people who have caring adults in their lives are less likely to fall into peer pressure and to be more confident about themselves. People who experience an adventure with Amnicon experience love and support and begin to know that they are a capable and lovable no matter their background. That is something that they will carry with them throughout their lives and be able to make an impact for the future.
