Everyone needs a place they can call home. For some that is a house, for others it is a safe place that fosters a sense of community and belonging. Often times, nonprofits are a safe haven for children looking for comfort. We are honored to work with 4 excellent organizations that are serving 300+ youth in need. By supporting these institutions at their core - their staff, their volunteers, their programs - we ensure that more children receive the support and education that they deserve.
In Ecuador, too many children are stuck in challenging situations that they won't fully understand until adulthood. In Ecuador, only 62% of children go to high school, a quarter of children under 5 are malnourished, and severe child abuse occurs in 44% of homes. Children lack access to quality education, supportive home environments and extra academic support. At home, these children do not get the social interaction, stability, or loving mentors that will push them forward.
Cue the life-changing sensations of safety, support and love for a child. Organizations such as NOVA, CETAP-Lucy, OSSO, and El Arenal are providing irreplaceable support to 300+ children that would be alone and lost in their personal growth. These institutions give educational and emotional support to children in ways they do not regularly receive at home. Sustain a child's access to safety, love, positive mentors and quality education, and watch kids not only grow but thrive.
It is no surprise that kids who are brought up in healthy environments are more likely to become happy, healthy, successful members of society. With the perfect combination of acceptance and education, children gain resources and a network of support needed to launch into life & new opportunities.
