We are still awaiting funds for this response wide project. Once we receive them we will be able to collect and share useable feedback from refugees on the international community's response in Europe. Until then we continue to work with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). Senior Consultant Kai Hopkins was recently in Greece - in Thessaloniki - working with the (IRC) to introduce a light-touch feedback system with migrants and refugees in four camps. Keystone's Ground Truth programme is helping the IRC capture, among other things, whether their needs are being met, whether they are treated with respect and dignity and whether they have access to the information they need. The aim is to make the IRC more responsive and ‘client-focused’ in their programming.
Once there are additional funds available, Ground Truth will be able to supply this kind of information across the whole response. Recent studies by BBC Media Action highlighted the need for effective two-way communication between refugees and humanitarian providers, and that is the gap Ground Truth hopes to fill.
