Keystone Accountability has been busy over the last quarter, supporting a range of organizations working in development to listen to the people they serve.
We are working in Malawi on developing an effective way for citizens to take the lead in their own development. This project involves setting up social labs to address development challenges in two areas of the country. We have been working closely with local partners and community members to develop and design the approach.
We are just starting a new project with civil society organizations all over the world. We will support local civil society organizations to improve their downward accountability. We are going to test whether organizations that are more accountable to the people they serve, are more resilient against threats to civil society.
We have also been working with various international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) to help them understand how their local partners experience working with them. This feedback helps the INGOs to better support their local partners and together work more effectively for the benefit of local people.
