BOREHOLE PROJECT

By Sharon Mukucha | Project Manager

Progress Report: Borehole Project at Angels Palace Children’s HomeProject Summary

Angels Palace continues to make steady progress toward improving access to safe and reliable water through the development of a borehole at the children’s home. This project supports the health, hygiene, and daily care needs of vulnerable children by strengthening access to clean water for drinking, cooking, sanitation, and household use.

Reliable water access remains a critical component of maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for the children.

Activities Completed During This Reporting Period

During this reporting period, the organization achieved several important milestones toward borehole completion:

  • Identification and preparation of the drilling site
  • Initial technical assessments and groundwork planning
  • Coordination with stakeholders supporting implementation
  • Continued mobilization of resources for infrastructure development
  • Strengthened engagement with supporters through the GlobalGiving platform

These steps represent meaningful progress toward securing a sustainable water source for the children’s home.

Funds Raised Through GlobalGiving

Through support received via GlobalGiving, the project has successfully raised US$1,500 toward the borehole initiative.

This contribution is supporting preparatory work and moving the project closer to the drilling and installation phase.

Project Impact So Far

Although the borehole is still in progress, the initiative is already contributing positively by:

  • Strengthening infrastructure planning for improved water access
  • Supporting safer hygiene practices for children and caregivers
  • Reducing long-term reliance on inconsistent external water sources
  • Advancing sustainable living conditions at the children’s home

These improvements are essential to protecting children’s health and supporting daily operations at the facility.

Next Steps

The next phase of the project will focus on:

  • Advancing drilling-stage preparations
  • Continuing resource mobilization for completion
  • Coordinating technical implementation activities
  • Preparing for long-term maintenance planning after installation

Completion of these steps will bring the organization closer to ensuring consistent access to safe water for all children at the home.

Appreciation

Angels Palace expresses sincere appreciation to GlobalGiving supporters and partners whose contributions are helping strengthen access to essential services for children living at the home. Their support continues to play an important role in advancing sustainable solutions that improve wellbeing and daily care conditions for vulnerable children
