Progress Report: Borehole Project at Angels Palace Children’s Home1. Project Overview

Angels Palace Children’s Home continues to work toward improving access to safe, reliable, and sustainable water through the development of a borehole at the children’s home.

The project is intended to support the daily water needs of vulnerable children and caregivers, including drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning, sanitation, and general household use. Reliable access to water is essential for maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for the children.

2. Progress Achieved During the Reporting Period

During this reporting period, Angels Palace made progress toward preparing for the implementation of the borehole project. Key activities included:

• Identification and preparation of a potential drilling site.

• Initial technical assessments and groundwork planning.

• Engagement and coordination with stakeholders regarding project implementation.

• Continued mobilization of resources required for the project.

• Engagement with supporters through the GlobalGiving platform.

• Continued planning for the drilling and installation phase.

These activities have helped establish the foundation required for the project to move forward once the necessary funding becomes available.

3. GlobalGiving Funding Status

Angels Palace has been working to secure US$1,500 through the GlobalGiving platform toward the borehole project.

At the time of this reporting period, the funds have not yet been received and remain pending. As a result, no expenditure has been made against the anticipated US$1,500 funding.

The organization continues to follow up on the funding process and is actively seeking additional resources to ensure that the borehole project can proceed to the drilling and installation stage.

4. Project Impact So Far

Although the borehole has not yet been completed, the project has contributed to improved infrastructure planning and preparation for sustainable water access at the children’s home.

Once completed, the borehole is expected to:

• Improve access to reliable water for children and caregivers.

• Support better hygiene and sanitation practices.

• Provide water for drinking, cooking, cleaning, and other daily needs.

• Reduce dependence on inconsistent external water sources.

• Improve the long-term sustainability of the children’s home.

• Contribute to safer and healthier living conditions for vulnerable children.

5. Challenges

The main challenge affecting the progress of the project is the availability and release of the required funding.

While the organization has continued with planning, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilization, the drilling and installation phase cannot be fully advanced until sufficient funds are secured.

Angels Palace therefore continues to seek financial support and partnerships to bridge the remaining funding gap.

6. Next Steps

The organization will focus on:

• Following up on the pending GlobalGiving funding.

• Continuing resource mobilization for the borehole project.

• Advancing technical preparations for drilling.
