New mothers at Agonga immunising their new babies
Not so long ago, we opened our new maternity award at Agonga facility to the public. The number of expectant mothers delivering from the new maternity ward has increased tremendously unlike in the past where most of them were delivering from the traditional birth attendants, which posed a huge risk on their health and that of the baby.
As we strive to strengthen our Maternal and child health care at our health facilities in Unyama and Agonga, we should be reminded how an ultrasound machine is very vital in reducing maternal and neonatal mortality in our community.
Thank you for partnering with us in saving the lives of mothers and their new born babies. Our drive to procure an ultrasound imaging machine for our health facilities is ongoing and if you can, please send in a donation.

Antenatal Care For every mother and child.

Every pregnant woman needs support from her family and community in seeking care during pregnancy, at the time of delivery, after delivery and during the lactation period.
The purpose of antenatal care is to ensure good health in every pregnant woman and her unborn baby by checking for any conditions that may cause a risk either during pregnancy or at birth. Specifically, one ultrasound scan before 24 weeks' gestation is recommended for pregnant women to estimate gestational age, improve detection of fetal anomalies and multiple pregnancies, reduce induction of labor for post-term pregnancy, and improve a woman's pregnancy experience.
Our new maternity ward at Agonga Health Facility is in dire need of an ultrasound scan. Many mothers have to incur an extra cost of travelling lots of kilometres to access the available machine in Gulu town. KCIU continues to mobilise the community and well wishers to raise funds and procure an Ultrasound scan machine to improve our antenatal services.
We are relying on your friendship and generosity to give mothers in our community a chance to safe motherhood. Thank you for being part of KCIU life saving works and if you are able, please send in a donation.

To our esteemed partners, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your endless support towards our projects. This has helped in supporting so many unprivileged women in our community in ways you can't imagine.
KCIU operates two health facilities in the Northern Uganda district of Gulu which support thousands of patients each month. Our goal is to provide access to basic health care in the community and our focus has been to save expectant mothers and their new born babies from dying during childbirth. This will be achieved among other things by acquiring Ultrasound imaging machines at our two clinics in Gulu district.
Thank you for your continued support and your commitment to the women in our community. We encourage you to keep supporting our causes and if you can, please send in a donation.
