From Self-Doubt to Soaring Dreams

Dear Friends,

The Project Soar team extends our deepest gratitude to you, our incredible supporters, for your commitment to our mission. Because of you, we’re able to empower marginalized girls across Morocco to build confidence, find their voices, and become catalysts for change in their communities. Your generous contributions are planting the seeds of a powerful teen girl feminist movement, and it’s already beginning to bloom.

Today, we’re excited to share the story of one of our remarkable Soar Girls: Majda.

Majda grew up in Fes, a quiet and thoughtful girl who often felt like her dreams were too big for the world around her. At times, she questioned whether it was selfish to want more for herself. Self-doubt would creep in, whispering that she wasn’t strong enough or worthy enough to chase those dreams.

But Majda didn’t give up. Through Project Soar’s empowerment workshops, she discovered her voice. She learned about leadership, confidence, and the importance of taking up space in a world that often tries to shrink girls’ potential. Inspired and determined, she made a bold choice: to enroll in an English program at the American Language Center, something she had long hoped for but never thought possible. She knew this step would open new doors, and she pushed through every challenge that came her way.

Today, Majda is in her second year at the National School of Architecture in Fes, and she’s thriving. She leads classroom discussions, competes in public speaking contests, and dives deep into her passion for urban planning. Her journey hasn’t been easy, but she’s learned that true resilience is forged in the toughest moments.

“Project Soar gave me the confidence to believe in myself,” she says. “There were times when I wanted to give up, when I thought my dreams were impossible. But I’ve learned that no challenge is bigger than my determination. I’m excited to use the lessons I’ve learned at Project Soar as I continue pursuing my dreams.”

Majda’s story is a powerful reminder of why our work matters. Soar Girls are growing into confident, visionary young women, and we can’t wait to see the future they will shape. We are so proud to walk alongside these girls, and you should be too! None of this would be possible without your unwavering support.

Uniting for Empowerment: Leadership Training

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are so grateful for your unwavering support and commitment to empowering marginalized girls in Morocco. Your contributions are fueling transformative change and helping hundreds of girls unlock their potential and claim their rights.

We’re excited to share the latest milestone in our journey together. From October 22nd to 28th, Project Soar brought together 77 motivated Soar girls and 33 dedicated facilitators from 40 sites across Moroccofor a transformative leadership training in Marrakech. This week-long event united beneficiaries from 11 regions, strengthening a vibrant movement of teen girls committed to leadership, advocacy, and community empowerment.

The training was designed to equip Soar Club leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to manage their clubs effectively and inspire their communities. Through dynamic workshops on advocacy and social media strategies, conflict resolution, event planning, and fundraising, participants gained the tools to lead with confidence and create meaningful change. Collaborative workshops encouraged participants to brainstorm, plan, and design innovative community projects, fostering leadership, creativity, and teamwork.

This event was more than just a training - it was a celebration of the Soar community and a testament to the power of solidarity. From group activities to shared meals and cultural outings to places like Bahia Palace and Jemaa El Fna, the girls built deep and lasting connections. Soar Girls left with a renewed sense of unity and determination, ready to champion causes close to their hearts. Reflecting on the experience, Islam Rafiaa, a 16 year old from the Dakhla Soar Club, shared: "This is where girls learn to stand up for their rights, advocate for their communities, and build a support system that empowers us to help one another."

Project Soar is proud to see these young leaders rise with confidence, knowledge, and purpose. With your support, we are building a powerful movement of teen leaders advocating for their rights, inspiring others, and driving meaningful change across Morocco.

Nouhaila's Journey to Empowerment

We are deeply grateful for your continued support and dedication to empowering marginalized girls in Morocco. Your contributions are providing essential resources and making a lasting difference in the lives of hundreds of girls!

Today, we want to share the inspiring story of Nouhaila, a 15-year-old from Marrakesh, who exemplifies resilience, determination, and the transformative power of our empowerment workshops.

Nouhaila's Story
Nouhaila, a bright and determined student in the 10th grade, joined the Project Soar program in 2023. Before Project Soar, she faced significant challenges in understanding her value and realizing her full potential. Like many girls in Morocco, societal barriers often discouraged her from recognizing her worth. "Before coming to Project Soar, I didn't know what my value was," Nouhaila reflects.

Through her participation in Project Soar's empowerment workshops, Nouhaila discovered her inner strength. She credits the Value and Path modules with opening her eyes to her potential. "I learned that I have the same value as anyone else, and the same rights." These workshops gave her the tools to recognize her worth and advocate for herself.

In particular, the Path module, which teaches girls how to organize their priorities and plan for their future, resonated with her. She loved the debate activities, where she could express her opinions and defend her ideas. Before attending Project Soar, Nouhaila admits she wouldn’t have had the courage to stand in front of an audience, but she now stands confidently in front of her peers, delivering presentations and engaging in debates. Her family has taken notice too, recognizing her as a confident and responsible young woman.

Nouhaila’s story is just one example of the many girls who, with the right knowledge and encouragement, are taking charge of their futures. By contributing to this program, you are helping girls like Nouhaila access critical knowledge about their rights and providing them with the tools they need to overcome barriers to education and personal growth.
