Well, here we are, just over a week into September.

Vacations are in the rearview mirror, school is starting, routines are returning, and September brings its own kind of chaos. New beginnings are exciting, but sometimes, when life gets busy, we can lose sight of what’s right in front of us.

For The Beagle Alliance, that’s you.

Of course, making sure dogs go from LAB to LOVE is priority number one. But we’re also very aware that we don’t walk this journey alone.

YOU ARE RIGHT HERE WITH US. You have a heart for these dogs.

You care about what happens to them. And by supporting The Beagle Alliance, you are helping us keep moving toward change, one beagle and one opportunity at a time.

So this weekend, we just wanted to pause for a moment and say:

We're still smiling after Mission: Home Sweet Home

It's our Birthday!

Mission: Home Sweet Home was everything we hoped it would be.

Twelve former research beagles are now beginning their new lives, surrounded by safety, patience, and love. Watching them take their first steps toward freedom is something we'll never forget.

But if there was one thing that could have made this mission even more special, it would have been welcoming them into a completed Soft Landing.

We're dreaming of a space with a dog wash station, cozy sleeping areas where frightened dogs can decompress, and a secure yard where they can run, explore, and simply learn what it means to be a dog.

These beagles have given so much. They deserve every comfort we can provide.

Today, you can help make that dream a reality.

Operation Lab to Love: Not a Rescue - A Mission

It's not Black and White

It’s not all Black and White.

Emotions are running high and the word “rescue” has come to mean different things to different people and organizations.

As we stand on the cusp of placing five former research beagles into loving homes, we are reminded that this is our mission and our privilege.

We have been asked in recent weeks what we are going to do about the thousands of dogs in research facilities across the U.S. and Canada. It is a complex question.

We do what we can, as many of you know, one beagle at a time. This is our mission and it is a powerful act of collaboration.

But it must also be said that if the system allows it, then the system must be where change happens.

It is at the systemic level that we must advocate, make appeals, and work towards legislation that creates long-term change for animals in research.

As animal lovers with powerful voices, let’s not lean further into division, but instead, let’s seek common ground - and focus on what is right and best in the long term for the greatest number of animals in research.

This is our hope—alongside the hope that one day, all dogs will go from LAB to LOVE. ~ Lori
