The high number of orphans living within the slums of Kisumu needs urgent attention, the provision of food,basic education,health care and training will give these orphans a self-reliance future.
To achieve the above, Bread needs the following; 1. Adequate food supply to help the hungry orphans under its care. 2. Books and other education materials to support these orphans get basic primary education. 3. School uniforms for these children. 4. A well established vocational center where these orphans can learn life skills subjects like Carpentry, tailoring and dressmaking. The sole beneficiaries of all these are the Orphans .
Bread is currently running the following activities. 1. Feeding 2. Education 3. Vocational trainings
Once the projects activities are fully implemented, these orphans will be self-reliance and also capable of taking care of their siblings This will fully eradicate child labour and prostitution hence reduction of the spread of HIV/AIDS.
