GIVE CLEAN WATER TO NEEDY COMMUNITIES IN CAMEROON.

Integrated Agricultural Association IAA aims to provide safe, clean and reliable drinking water to communities in need in Cameroon. From boreholes, spring camping, pipe born and sanitation facilities in schools, community and public places to reduce water born disease water related poverty. With reliable water supply systems, our communities will:

• Health Improvements: Installing protected water sources dramatically improves community health by eliminating waterborne diseases and enabling proper hygiene. Access to clean water prevents diseases spread by both ingestion and contact, highlighting the critical link between water access and public health.
• Economic Empowerment: Access to reliable water sources can alleviate poverty. It allows communities to invest in agriculture, enables various trades to flourish, and reduces the economic burden of treating water-related diseases. With water readily available, people can focus more on income-generating activities rather than spending time and energy on water collection.
• Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment: The installation of new water sources significantly benefits women and girls, who are primarily responsible for water collection. It reduces their physical burden, decreases exposure to gender-based violence, and frees up time for education and economic activities, promoting gender equality and empowerment.
• Educational Benefits: Water accessibility in schools leads to improved student attendance, concentration, and academic performance. It alleviates the need for students to fetch water, allowing them to focus on their studies and participate fully in school activities.
• Community Transformation: Water is a catalyst for positive change across various facets of life, including health, education, economic stability, and gender equality. By providing communities with access to clean water, The Water Project sets the foundation for a brighter, more sustainable future.

The children of Koudum Village in Fouban Sub-Division, West Region of Cameroon, often bear the burden of walking miles each day to find water in streams and ponds, full of water-borne disease that is making them and their families sick. Illness and the time lost fetching it robs entire community of their future. These children travels approximately 2Kms to fetch dirty water in ponds where they share with livestock and other unhealthy human activities.

Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) has recently rehabilitated a pipe-born water system in Kingoment village, Kumbo Sub-Division, Northwest Region of Cameroon and over 5000 villegers now have consistent and quality supply of clean and drinking water in all the village squares. Koudum village of Foumban Sub-Division is inhabited by the Fulani people and herdsmen with population of over 1500. They do not have access to clean and safe drinking water nor support and are requesting for a Well as described by the community member in a video attached on this report.

Access to water and sanitation is a basic human right and all people everywhere in World deserves to enjoy it. Integrated Agricultural Association urgently need $5000 to construct a Well with hand pump (Mannual) to provide clean and safe drinking water to over 1500 Fulani people and herders in Koudum Village by the end of March 2024.
