Campaign update

By Alessandra Moscadelli | Head of Communications, Energy 4 Impact

Hello, we have great news!

Thanks to your generous support we have passed the test set for us by GlobalGiving. Having raised more than $6.4K from 78 people in less than three weeks, our Powering Villages project has earned a permanent place on the GlobalGiving crowdfunding platform.

This means that we can now raise more funds through the platform to give access to clean energy to 60,000 people in 20 of the poorest villages in Kenya and Tanzania over the next 3 years.

You will notice that we have increased our fundraising target to $50K. This amount might seem large, but Powering Villages needs significant funding. We intend to raise this in three ways:

  • by pooling together resources with some of our other current projects,
  • by tapping into the purchasing power of the villages’ residents themselves,
  • and by donations through GlobalGiving.

Raising $50K on GlobalGiving is thus a key building block in our funding plan for Powering Villages, and therefore critical to addressing the needs of the communities that we want to help.

Please help us raise $50K by reaching out to your network and asking them to support our project:

Another great wait to help us raise funds is to set up your own ‘fundraiser’ via GlobalGiving. If you’re planning a challenge such as a run or a trek, a dinner party or any other event, please ask your friends and family to sponsor you and link donations back to our crowdfunding campaign. Here’s how:  https://bit.ly/2wS8UGM

Thank you on behalf of everyone at Energy 4 Impact!

Kind regards

Alessandra Moscadelli
