This project gives hope to children at risk in Rwanda by providing a loving home free education & psychosocial support for those affected by the genocide & HIV/AIDS pandemic to live a balanced life.
The 2005 RDHS says that 29% of the total population of Rwanda is made up of 1,350,820 orphans & vulnerable children. A high percentage of children lost their parents to HIV/Aids & living in child-headed families. It is estimated 19,000 children under 14 live with AIDS. More recently gender based violence has affected many children. This project will support directly & indirectly; and improve the lives of 1700 orphans & vulnerable children throughout Rwanda.
FVA provide homes, education and support for children at risk in Rwanda by placing them in a caring & safe environment. The children of single parent families are Indirectly helped through the provision of income generating activities.
The project will increase the opportunities of 1700 Orphans & vulnerable children affected by conflict & HIV/AIDS in Rwanda and an improved lifestyle through access to a good home & quality education, thereby be a benefit to the community.
