Sibani (not her real name) is a girl of 11 years old and reads in Class-V. She lives in Ashoknagar slum with her family. Her father is a daily labourer and spent a major part of his income in alcohol, so it was very difficult for her mother to maintain the family. The acute poverty in the family did not allow Sibani to go to school regularly. So many times, she was irregular in school and engaged in household activities with her mother. In the mean time our Remedial teacher identified her and she was enrolled in the Remedial center. The teacher put some extra effort which helped Sibani to be blossomed. This made her encouraged to go the school regularly and participated in different co-curricular activities. This year she stood first in her class in Goutam Nagar Upper Primary School. Now she is continuing her education and doing well in her studies.
