Bhagyashree (not her real name), a 12 years old poor girl was studying in Class-VI when she dropped out of school. Her parents are daily laborers and could not able to support her studies. Ruchika Remedial Education Centre was running in that slum. The Remedial Teacher came to know about her and counselled both the parents and the girl to continue her studies. She also joined our Remedial Education Center and with the help of the teacher, she was admitted in Class-VII. She is a bright student and also good in extra curricular activities in school.
She was one of the participants in the "Science Exhibition" and her project on "Proper utilization of waste output of urban slum" was selected by the jury of National Children's Science Congress, Govt. of Odisha. Her model was presented in the 21st National Children's Science Congress, Khordha District Level competition and she got prize there. She has a dream to be a Science teacher in future and help her community children in studies.
