Andres!
Hola! My name is Andres; I am five years old and I live in Turbo. I’m currently in preschool and I love playing with my toys.
My mom is a housewife and my dad works as a taxi driver. When I was born I was diagnosed with a malformation in my mouth called cleft palate. This malformation makes it very difficult for me to speak and to eat.
Thanks to your donations, I was able to undergo surgery and through speech therapy I have improved my pronunciation, it’s now easier for me to interact with people.
I send you a big hug from Urabá and thank you for brightening my future!

Cristian's smile
Cristian is one of the 20 children who has benefited from the project "Give a New Smile to 20 Children in Uraba”, he is 4 years of age and lives in Turbo/Colombia. Cristian gave us his testimony of how the surgery provided him with a chance for a new life free of social alienation and physical deformity.
"Hi everyone, I'm Cristian, I like playing with my friends, running, jumping and swimming in the sea. I live with my mom and my sister with whom I love to play every day.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with cleft lip and split palate, which brought many difficulties to my life, like the ability to eat. Also sometimes when I spoke, my friends made fun of me and that made me angry.
Thanks to donors like you, I recently had my cleft lip and split palate surgery. Doctors say I need more interventions to correct my problem. Right now I'm in speech therapy to improve my pronunciation. The therapy and the surgery was a big change in my life, I send you a big hug from my home country. "
