Every day, U&I's tutors choose to invest in their students. They think outside the box, giving the children opportunities to be creative.
Our Library and Reading Program, launched at most of our 31 Learning Centers, has been a huge success. Our children cannot wait to get their hands on a new book and then discuss it with their tutor the following week. The tutors, in tun, have been using books as a launch pad to help with their phonics classes.
U&I’s tutor Shruti in Coimbatore sees the results of this investment. "There's no joy purer than the joy that rushes through you when your student reads an entire sentence in a storybook without your help. This is what made me realize that we are changing the lives of children - one alphabet at a time," says Shruti.
Another tutor Nickaela from Bangalore agrees. Her heartwarming moment was when her student stopped her in the middle of her lesson and said, "I know what sound B makes!" She quickly made a boat out of paper and said, "B is for boat, b, b, boat." It was a simple moment, but a significant breakthrough for a child.
Today 1400 kids are receiving a quality education thanks to the U&I's tutors who teach with a passion to see their students succeed. From discussing books and playing value games, to making collages and origami crafts, U&I shows the children that learning can be fun.
It's our aim to see every child we teach complete their education. And each of our tutors is willing to invest their time and their talent to make sure that no child is left behind.
