Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting the Give 988 Niger Delta Girls Reusable Menstrual Cups project. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and commitment to helping girls remain in school and manage their menstrual health safely and confidently.
For many girls living in rural communities across the Niger Delta, access to menstrual supplies remains a serious challenge. The cost of disposable pads is beyond the reach of many families, while supplies are often unavailable in remote communities. As a result, some girls miss classes during their menstrual periods or rely on unsafe alternatives that can affect their health, confidence, and participation in school activities.
We are grateful for the donations received so far. However, the funds currently available are not sufficient to begin implementation of the project. Additional support is needed before procurement of menstrual cups, hygiene kits, educational materials, transportation, and community training activities can commence.
This project aims to provide 988 girls with reusable menstrual cups, hygiene supplies, and practical menstrual health education. Female health workers and trained facilitators will guide participants on proper use, cleaning, storage, and personal hygiene practices. The reusable cups are designed to provide a long-term solution that can serve beneficiaries for many years.
Access to reliable menstrual products can help girls attend school more consistently and participate fully in daily activities. It can also reduce the financial burden on families who struggle to purchase menstrual supplies every month. Alongside the distribution of menstrual cups, the project seeks to improve awareness and understanding of menstrual health within participating communities.
We remain committed to implementing this project and continue working toward the resources needed to launch the first phase. As progress is made, we look forward to sharing updates, photographs, and stories from the girls whose education and wellbeing will benefit from this support.
Thank you for helping remove barriers that prevent girls from reaching their full potential.
Warm regards,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
