Project Report | Aug 24, 2017
Hello from 370 happy children in Guatemala

By Donna Jepson | Project Leader

370 kids at Los Patojos have been given a chance in life – not just with the provision of nutritious food, a holistic education and attentive medical care – but also with the opportunity to have a childhood filled with the echoes of laughter and engagement in drama, music and the arts, all within a loving community.

Nelson is an example of our success. He has been a part of Los Patojos since infancy. He comes from an impoverished and troubled background. Nelson’s mother is single with six children. Her only source of income is selling newspapers on the street, which does not provide sufficient income to meet the most basic expenses. Fortunately, Nelson came to Los Patojos when he was two years old and he has had the benefits of food, education, medical care and healthy recreational play. Despite his challenged background, he is a happy and intelligent child who is flourishing.

The funding from your donations has enabled us to ensure that the meals these children receive are nutritious and complete so that they are healthy and growing to normal heights. We have been able to provide more balanced meals which is fundamental, we cannot achieve success in educating children when they are hungry.

We thank each and every one of you. You are part of our team, together we are changing these children’s lives forever. Please continue to help us when you can.
