When you invest in a girl, the whole world benefits?
Girl Power Project is one of ChildHelp Sierra Leone activity that empowers girls dramatically to improve the wellbeing of their families and their communities changing lives in society. This is an answer to the call made ‘’Leave No One Behind’’.
The November 2016 to February 2017 activities were built on transformational ways which impacted better lives in girl-children and their communities in Makeni, Pujehun and Kenema where thousands of girls are in extreme poverty and left behind. The issue of girls in Kenema and Pujehun (South and Eastern province) has prompted us to establish a new office in Kenema city for project extension. ChildHelp meet challenges in these project areas. Communities were abandoned during the civil war and even during the recent Ebola outbreak, which makes it a very difficult migration issues for these new settlement, affecting more girl-children. Beneficiaries have faced choices that have increased their poverty, early marriages, teenage pregnancy and high illiteracy rate.
With the help of GlobalGiving supporters, Anne Frank Fonds, Sierra Leone Poverty Alleviation Agency, the Bradley’s and ChildHelp.
