Summary

Treatment Clinics will be organized for victims to provide services of doctor's treatment, psychotherapy, social counselling and legal counseling for 30 rape victims at Dhaka City Corporation. It acts as a bonding process to unite them and empowers to denounce the abuses. Later they will initiate to build their own association named "Girls Forum" in Dhaka City Corporation to provide social counseling services to 300 girls and young women in Bangladesh.

Challenge

Rape has been a major tool of violence and this incident is happening due to lack of implementation of existing law. The perpetrators would bring to justice and provide exemplary punishment so that would not dare to commit such crimes any more. The number of rapes incidents occurred in the country was 393 in 2009; 593 in 2010; 508 in 2012; 696 in 2013610 in 2014 and 492 in 2015. The rising trend of sexual violence against women reasons a culture of impunity apathy of Bangladeshi law enforcers

Solution

At treatment Centre victims of 30 rape and torture victims and 300 victims of sexual violence and torture against girls and young women will be Provided psychosocial support, medical care, legal counselling, family therapy, follow-ups including home visits, referral services, financial assistance, life skills development, for girls and young women and vocational training & livelihood support to restore their health, dignity and ability to rebuild their lives and protect their children.

Long-Term Impact

Girls Forum will be formed by the victims and it will be functional by the effort of project out put. Acknowledgement of the value of minority women work will be ensured by the government and other groups will respect them, Community Leaders, duty bearers and CSOs will do their duties and responsibilities in favour of minority groups and Statements of audience. The perpetrators would bring to justice and provide exemplary punishment so that would not dare to commit such crimes any more
