OLE Kenya with support from OLE International initiated this campaign with the goal of expanding our presence in the Mathare slums by extending our programs to existing community centers and schools. Our primary aim was to raise funds needed to hire and train staff, and for equipment purchasing. Unfortunately, we were unable to generate a sustained level of interest needed to launch this program in the field. We are disappointed that this program was not able to realize the intended outcomes. At this time we must regroup and consider other options for program funding. Accordingly, we will be closing this funding appeal and folding the $70 raised into our general program fund. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who contributed. We look forward to advancing this program through other channels and we are confident that a program will materialize.
