Summer 2026 - Practical skills for the future

By Jennifer Owen | Chair of Trustees

We are delighted to share highlights from two important recent initiatives that are helping to equip our students and staff with practical skills for the future.

First Aid Training Programme

We were fortunate to welcome three dedicated volunteers to Darjeeling, who delivered comprehensive first aid training to all staff members and our senior pupils. The sessions provided participants with valuable life-saving skills, increased confidence in responding to emergencies, and strengthened our ability to care for the wellbeing of the whole community. We are extremely grateful to the volunteer doctors for generously sharing their expertise and time.

Financial Awareness Workshop

We also held our very first financial awareness workshop for students undertaking vocational training and older school pupils. The workshop introduced essential financial concepts, including budgeting, saving, managing income, and making informed financial decisions. As many of these young people prepare for employment and greater independence, the training provided practical knowledge that will support them in building secure and successful futures.

Both initiatives reflect our commitment to providing education that extends beyond the classroom and prepares young people with the skills they need for everyday life. Thank you for your continued support, which makes opportunities such as these possible.
