We help disadvantaged children and young people in Darjeeling, India, build brighter futures through education, vocational training and access to improved healthcare. By working alongside local communities to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence young people need to succeed, we help break down barriers, create lasting opportunities and give them the foundations to thrive.
For many children and young people in Darjeeling, circumstances beyond their control can create significant barriers to education and opportunity. Limited financial resources can affect access to education, learning materials, vocational training and healthcare, making it harder for young people to reach their full potential. We believe that where these barriers exist, providing the right support at the right time can make a lasting difference.
We provide a programme of practical, long-term support focused on education, opportunity and care. Our education programmes help children access schooling through support with fees and other essential educational needs. As young people grow older, we help them prepare for life beyond school through vocational training, computer skills and careers guidance. Alongside education, our health and wellbeing programme provides nutritious meals, medical support and preventative healthcare.
Our aim is not simply to address an immediate need, but to help young people build the foundations for a brighter and more independent future. Through sustained access to education, skills development, healthcare and practical support, we help young people build the confidence and resilience they need to pursue further education, find meaningful employment and participate fully in their communities.
