Girls Education Trust Fund is a fundraising project that seeks to ensure young girls from rural communities in Nigeria gain access to quality education and necessary school materials. So far, the project has received a donation of 45 dollars and 25,000 naira which sums to about 114USD out of the requested 6,646 USD.
We began with the mapping of schools in communities where beneficiaries will be selected. Letters were also sent, alongside ongoing conversations with principals of selected schools to determine the eligibility criteria for the young girls. The criteria for selection was decided due to the fact that not all of these girls can be supported as a result of limited funds. Beneficiary forms were also created for record purposes and to track the progress of each beneficiary.
In order to raise more funds, YouthHubAfrica staff have also had discussions to re-strategise on fundraising techniques that can work better to increase the number of beneficiaries. In this light, we appreciate your support in improving the lives of young girls in Nigeria as we hope to create more impact this year 2020.
Happy New Year 2020!
