Through an ongoing effort of reducing blindness in this part of Rajasthan, Alakh Nayan Mandir has been able to reach out to 3414 patients in the months of March, April and May 2016. Various eye screening camps were organized to extend our services to the most under served population of this region. 518 patients were operated upon absolutely free of cost for various eye ailments.
As a part of this Global Giving project, through the donation that we have received, few patients were benefitted with surgical intervention. Alakh Nayan Mandir had organized a camp in Village Sakriya Kheri of Udaipur District on 2 June 2016. Patients selected for surgery were brought to the base hospital and necessary intervention was done. Following patients were benefitted:
A distinct joy of regaining vision after a long time gave them confidence to hope for a better tomorrow for themselves. Bhaga Dangi is confident that he will be able to now earn his livelihood by working in the farm fields again, which was hampered due to poor vision as a consequence to cataract opacity.
All this has been possible through the generous support of all our donors.
Alakh Nayan Mandir wishes to expand itself to reach out to more and more such vulnerable population, in order to give them a "Gift of Sight". It is you, our donors, who can help us acheive this.
