As far as the economical situation of our country is making really difficult our sustainability and the possibility of homeless people to get jobs, we are deepening our efforts towards sustainability.
Fundación Multipolar's Work Training Center (WTC) runs a production area that functions as a work integration social enterprise (WISE): people experiencing homelessness complete paid, on-the-job training while producing goods and services that feed directly into the supply chains of established Argentine companies. The model links two objectives that are often treated separately in the sector — individual labor reintegration and institutional financial sustainability — by generating both training positions and market revenue from the same productive activity.
The production area currently operates three lines: metalworking, carpentry, and wood-waste recycling. Each is structured as a distinct value chain with an external buyer, a defined product, and a training pathway.
We are carrying on three different production lines:
Metalworking: the herrería workshop trains participants in cutting, welding, and assembly, producing safety barriers supplied to Metrogas. Because the buyer is an industrial client with technical specifications, this line also functions as a quality-control training ground — participants work to standards set by an external company rather than internal benchmarks alone.
Carpentry: the carpentry workshop repairs wooden pallets for Andreani's logistics network. This line generates the wood offcuts that feed the recycling line, so it is both a training pathway in its own right and the upstream supplier for the pellet-pressing process.
Wood-waste recycling: offcuts from pallet repair are pressed into animal bedding pellets. This line was added to the two existing ones specifically to diversify both the training pathways available to participants and the products Multipolar can offer external buyers, reducing dependence on any single client relationship.
