The Gender Equality Campaign for 250 Youth in Katsina State is currently ongoing, with implementation activities progressing steadily despite funding limitations. Initial mobilization and sensitization efforts have been carried out across selected communities, and preparations for youth training sessions and advocacy activities are underway. The project continues to focus on engaging both girls and boys in conversations around equal opportunities, leadership, and respectful community participation.
Financially, the project is still seeking full donor support to achieve its target of $1,450, with no donations received yet. Existing preliminary activities have been sustained through internal support, volunteer contributions, and careful resource management to keep the project active while fundraising continues. Priority funding needs include training materials, transportation for facilitators and participants, community outreach logistics, advocacy materials, and support for youth ambassador activities. Additional financial support will ensure the project can fully implement all planned workshops, peer education sessions, and community campaigns while reaching the intended 250 young beneficiaries effectively.
Despite the financial challenges, community interest and youth participation remain encouraging. The project team remains committed to building a strong foundation for long-term impact by equipping young people with the knowledge and confidence to challenge discrimination and promote gender equality within their schools and communities.
