Gender equality starts with informed youth. This project will empower 250 young people in Katsina State to challenge discrimination and promote equal opportunities for girls and boys. Through practical training and youth-led advocacy, participants will gain the knowledge, confidence, and skills to advance gender equality in their schools and communities.
Girls in Katsina face unequal access to education, leadership, and decision-making. Harmful gender norms limit girls' futures while excluding boys from positive conversations about equality. Many youth lack accurate information, safe spaces, and role models to challenge discrimination. Without early action, gender inequality continues into adulthood, harming families and communities.
Change happens when youth lead it. This project will train 250 girls and boys through workshops, peer education, and community campaigns focused on gender equality, rights, and leadership. Youth ambassadors will share knowledge locally, engage community members, and promote respectful attitudes. The approach is low-cost, community-based, and proven to drive behavior change.
Empowered youth create lasting change. This project will build a network of informed young advocates who continue promoting gender equality beyond the project period. Long-term results include reduced tolerance for discrimination, stronger youth leadership, improved opportunities for girls, and more inclusive communities that support equal rights for all.
