Healing Hands Foundation faces many challenges with the little POLO Vivo, 1.4 which is very small in terms of transporting clients to various referal Organizations and collections and distributions in various areas in the Nelson Mandela Metropole. Getting a bigger vehicle will be ideal for the transportation of victims/ clients and to fetch various donations for the Safe Home.
These women come in with their children who also need to get to the doctors, hospitals and to schools. We are in the process of opening a larger Shelter which can accommodate at least 40 women with their children. We will be very grateful for support to this ongoing project which was opened in 2010 and is being expanded to a larger shelter.
More programs will be implemented in the Shelter for women to paticipate in. There will be a skills centre, a creche, commputer training lab, preparations for job interviews and a clinic as it is in the center of the Youth Accomodations and will be able to provide family planning, TB Testing, HIV Testing, wound dressing and many more services for the people in the Metro.
