As the genocide on Gaza has entered its second year, the humanitarian situation continues to worsen by day. Our partners, Atfaluna Society and Sulafa Embroidery Center, are operating from Deir Al-Balah in the middle area, doing their best in serving women, children and displaced families under the most challenging of circumstances.
Atfaluna Society reports that the fourth installment of our donation, sent on September 15, is being used for their latest education project, 'Access to Inclusive Safe Temporary Learning Spaces for Displaced School Aged Children with and without disability (Boys and Girls) in the Gaza Strip'. All students in Gaza -- 625,000 children and 1,800 vocational trainees -- lost an entire school year and without any prospects for returning to their education in the near future. The war has impacted significantly the mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of children, teachers and caregivers while the educational infrastructure has been seriously damaged.
This project provides inclusive, quality learning spaces for 100 displaced school age girls and boys with and without disability for two months. The children will be brought to safe and secure learning environment, where inclusive learning strategies will be applied by the teachers and psychosocial specialists focusing on learning, literacy, numeracy, and life skills. The students will also be provided with the learning kits that include, bag, stationery, supplies, etc. Moreover, the desks and chairs used in the learning space are made by the skilled artisans of Atfaluna.
Sulafa Embroidery Centre is in touch with 200 women artisans and continue to produce embroidered crafts while undergoing the daily challenges of war, starvation, injuries and losses of their loved ones.
Thank you so much for your donation that made it all possible. Please share this campaingn with your family and friends so that we can do more to help sustaining the work and livelihood of our partners in Gaza.
